● Introduction
The Tokushima Prefectural Industrial
Technology Center (Tokushima Pref. ITC, called the Center) is managed with the
aim of contributing to promotion and progress of Industrial technology and food
processing in Tokushima prefecture as follows;
(1) Doing research, Investigation and guidance for Industries.
(2) Undertaking tests and analyses requested.
(3) Facilities and instruments are available of charge.
(4) Other services necessary for promoting Industries.
To carry out research programs effectively, an evaluation commission is
organized by the members of academic and Industrial circles.
The Center is also actively promoting the cooperative research programs between
industries and academic institutions in order to bring up the core industries
indicated in the Tokushima Prefecture Industrial Promotion Vision.
The center consists of the following seven divisions:
General affairs,Planning & information, Materials technology,
Electronics/Machinery, Life-style science, Consumer foods technology and
Biotechnology Applications.
The variety of technical branches is included as follows:
Chemical material technology;
application/processing of inorganic & organic materials, reuse of material
resources, environmental technology and chemical analyses.
Machinery and metal technology;
processing & surfacetreatment of metals, mechanical processing, minute
measurements and mechatronics/automation.
Electronic technology;
Countermeasure of electromagnetic noises, electro circuits design, application
of microcomputer, and information technology.
Related to life-style science;
processing & dyeing textile goods, processing woods/furnishings,
coating/adhesion, sound/vibration, design and application of computer.
Food technology;
making/evaluation consumer foods from cereals/beans, vegetables, fruits and
live-stock/marine products, processing cakes & fermented foods/beverages,
characterization of regional products, utilization of biomass and application of
microorganisms/enzymes.

In order to resolve technical problems and to support the development of new
products, the Center undertakes testing and analysis based upon requests from
firms.

TECHNICAL CONSULTATION

Consultation services are available to businesses facing various technical
problems.

TECHNICAL GUIDANCE

With the help of outside experts, Center staffs visit small and medium-sized
firms in order to assist in the adaptation and implementation of modern methods
into the production fields.

LECTURE COURSES AND STUDY GROUPS

The Center organizes lecture courses and study groups to disseminate information
resulting from the Center's research and testing. In addition, outside
specialities are invited to present the most up-to-date information on today's
technologies.

TECHNICAL TRAINING

The Center welcomes requests from small to medium-sized firms requiring
technical training for their engineer at any time.

JIONT RESEARCH & CONSIGNED RESEARCH

Joint research is carried out with some manufacturing private firms, The
University of Tokushima, some national congeneric institutes, the Tokushima
Industrial promotion Organization, the Tokushima Science Center and the
Tokushima Branch of Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.

Affair Reports and a HomePage in www. In the Center, anyone give access to the
Patent Reports and the Information System (STN, JOIS) of The Japan Science and
Technology Corporation.
